For 15 years we have been installing window film on architectural glass in Riga and within a 50 km radius. More than 400 completed projects: apartments, houses, offices, shops and clinics. We do not work on vehicle glass, and that is a deliberate choice.
We install film on architectural glass. That means the windows of flats and houses, glazed office façades and partitions, shop windows, glazed entrance doors, the windows of clinic and salon treatment rooms, and the glazing of production units and warehouses. The brief changes from one site to the next: in one place the heat has to come down, in another the view in from outside has to be closed off, in a third the glass has to be held together if it breaks, or a company logo has to go on the door.
We do not work on vehicle glass. It is worth saying that outright, because some of the people who find this site are looking for exactly that, and we will not be able to help them. Architectural film and vehicle film only look similar. In the actual work the materials differ, the sizes differ, the installation techniques differ, and so does the way film behaves on flat window glass compared with curved glass.
Specialising in one field is not a marketing decision but a practical one. When you spend fifteen years working only on architectural glass, you build up knowledge you cannot acquire any other way: how a particular film will look on a particular type of glazing unit, how it will behave on a south elevation after five years, and where a customer will be disappointed three years from now if the wrong choice is made today.
A number of years on its own tells you nothing. Concretely, it means three things that a new company simply cannot have.
On the day it goes on, almost every film looks good. The differences show up after five, seven or ten years: one starts to yellow, another lifts at the edges as the adhesive gives up, a third shifts colour under strong sun. We have gone back to sites we worked on many years ago and seen the results with our own eyes. That is why our recommendation is based on how a film will look in time, not just on the day it is fitted.
Part of experience is knowing what not to do. For instance, when a very dark film goes on a small, shaded north-facing window, the customer soon starts complaining about a gloomy room. Or when an unsuitable heat-reflective film is put on a glazing unit where it does not belong. Mistakes like these are expensive, because putting them right means removal and re-installation, so we flag them at the quotation stage.
Most sites are not empty building plots. People live in the flat, work is going on in the office, a shop has stock and customers in it. We have learned to work without getting in the way: we cover the sills and the floor, move only what genuinely has to be moved, and when the job is done everything is back where it was. The room can be used again as soon as we finish.
The sequence is the same for a single apartment window as it is for the glazing of an entire office floor. Only the scale and the schedule change.
Everything starts with the form. Tell us the type of property, the approximate area and the problem you want solved. Exact measurements are not needed at this stage, and you do not have to name a type of film: it is enough to say that the room is unbearably hot in the afternoon, or that passers-by look straight into a ground-floor room.
On the call we suggest one or more suitable films with a price per square metre and an approximate total. If the options differ in ways that matter - one gives more privacy but makes the room darker, say - we explain that, so the choice is an informed one.
We arrive at the agreed time, measure every pane precisely and look at the conditions: the floor, how the windows open, the access, whether ladders will be needed, whether furniture stands against the windows. Measuring is free and puts you under no obligation.
After measuring we give you the final price. That is the price we work to. It covers both the film and the labour, and we do not add a separate installation charge.
For a typical flat the work takes anywhere from a few hours to a single day. We clean the glass thoroughly, cut the film to size, apply it and finish the edges. When we are done we take away the offcuts and packaging.
We take enquiries through the form only, and then we call you. That is not an inconvenience you have to put up with, but a deliberate way of working, and there are practical reasons for it.
Most of the people who come to us have already weighed up other solutions. Where heat is the problem, that usually means air conditioning or replacing the glass. Where privacy is the problem, it means curtains, blinds or obscured glass. Each of those has its drawback, and that is precisely why the conversation ends up at film.
Curtains and blinds only solve the problem when they are closed, and then the room is dark and there is no view. Air conditioning fights the symptom rather than the cause: the heat has already come through the glass and into the room, and now it has to be cooled at the cost of electricity. Replacing the glass or the whole window does work, but it is expensive, involves taking things out, and takes time. Film acts on the cause, works around the clock without electricity, and does not block the view.
It is only fair to say what film does not do as well. It will not fix windows that draught or no longer close properly. It will not turn a hot summer attic room into a cool one if there is no ventilation up there at all. And every film is a compromise: more privacy, or more heat reflected away, usually means less daylight. We talk those compromises through before the work, not after.
These are the property types we see most often in our day-to-day work. Each has its own particulars, both in the choice of film and in how the work is organised.
Heat on the south side, prying eyes on the ground floor, faded parquet, roof windows in the loft. More on homes and apartments.
Glare on monitors, overheating beside a glazed façade, privacy in meeting rooms. More on offices.
Protecting stock from fading, safety film, logos and printed graphics. More on shops and storefronts.
Patient privacy, frosted treatment-room glass, discreet entrance areas. More on clinics and salons.
You can see the full list in the services section, current rates on the prices page, and where we work in the service area section.
Describe the property and the problem. We will put together a recommendation with the type of film, the price per m² and an approximate total, and call you to talk it through.
No. We work on architectural glass only: apartments, houses, offices, shops, clinics, salon premises and production facilities. The word tinting in our name makes many people think of vehicles, but our work is a different trade. Architectural films use different materials, different sizes and an entirely different installation method. We have deliberately stayed within one field, because that is what allows us to do it well.
15 years. In that time we have completed more than 400 projects in Riga and the surrounding area, from single apartment windows to glazed office façades and shop windows. What that experience means in practice is that we have watched how different films age after five and after ten years, and we know which solutions will not last in particular conditions.
In Riga and within roughly a 50 km radius of it. That covers every district of Riga, as well as Jūrmala, Mārupe, Babīte, Ķekava, Baldone, Salaspils, Ikšķile, Ogre, Ādaži, Carnikava, Olaine, Saulkrasti and Sigulda. If you are not sure whether your address falls inside that area, give the location in the form and we will check it.
We take enquiries through the form and then get in touch by phone. Fill in the form and we will call you on the number you give to talk through an initial quote. That order of things is deliberate: a conversation lets us establish the measurements, the types of film and the conditions on site straight away, and then agree a time for free on-site measuring.
Yes, and that is how most of our work is done. In flats we work while people are at home, in offices during or after the working day, in shops often before opening. Film work is clean: no dust, no noisy tools and no building debris. All we need is clear access to the window, roughly a metre's width.
Yes, a single window counts as an order. The only condition is a minimum order of €75. In practice that means it is worth considering, on a very small job, whether to do the remaining windows of the same home or office at the same time, because every additional square metre then costs only the square-metre rate.
