Glass as the place for your company mark

Most offices, clinics and shops already have everything needed - glass entrance doors, glazed reception or partitions. All that is missing is the film, a precise cut and careful application.

Where a logo on glass works best

The most common location is the entrance door. Someone looking for your office in a building with several tenants navigates by the sign on the door. Door glazing usually carries the logo, the company name and, where needed, opening hours or a floor number.

The second common location is the reception glazing, where the logo is made larger to act as a visual anchor for the room. In clinics this glass also needs to be partly opaque, so the logo is combined with frosted film.

Meeting room glass walls are the third typical location, where the logo forms part of a wider scheme - we cover that on our page about glass partition films.

In shop windows the logo is usually part of larger graphics alongside promotions and opening hours. We describe that on our page about storefront graphics.

Three ways to produce it

  • Single-colour cut vinyl. The logo is cut from film of a single colour. A clean result at the most economical price. Suits logos with a clear silhouette and no colour transitions.
  • Full-colour finish. Each colour is cut separately, or the logo is printed on clear film and cut to the outline. The second approach is needed if the logo contains gradients or shadows.
  • Frosted glass effect. The logo is cut from film that imitates sandblasted glass. Equally visible from both sides, whatever the background.

How your file becomes a logo on glass

Most questions about logos on glass are, in truth, questions about the file.

Why a vector file matters

An ordinary image - a JPG or PNG - is made up of a grid of pixels. It has a fixed number of them, so enlarging the image simply makes the pixels bigger and the edges ragged. A vector file - AI, EPS, PDF or SVG - stores the logo as mathematically described curves. That means it can be scaled from business-card size to a two-metre-wide graphic on a shopfront with the outline staying just as sharp.

For the cutting plotter this matters in practical terms too: the blade follows an outline, and an outline is exactly what a vector file contains.

If all you have is the logo from your website, that is no obstacle - we redraw the outline in vector form. Before cutting we show you how the cut version will look, so there are no surprises.

Size and positioning

A logo on glass almost always needs to be larger than it looks like it should on a computer screen, because people see it from several metres away and while moving.

Height is the second important decision. On entrance doors, eye level works - roughly 145–160 cm from the floor. For reception, it depends on whether the visitor is standing or seated. On partitions, the logo is often positioned so that it does not block the view of someone seated on the other side.

Before application we mark the logo outline on the glass with masking tape and agree it with you on site. This step guards against a result that is technically flawless but positioned wrongly.

Inside or outside, and what happens when you move

Applied from the inside

Wherever possible we apply the logo from inside the building. There the film is not exposed to rain, frost or ultraviolet radiation, and no passer-by can scratch it. A logo applied on the inside lasts considerably longer.

When it has to go outside

We apply from outside if the glass is tinted or reflective, or if there is a dark space behind it - in those cases a logo applied on the inside would be hard to read from the street. We use material designed for exterior conditions.

Removal and replacement

A rebrand or a move out of rented premises is no problem. We take the film off gradually, clean away any adhesive residue separately, and the glass is left exactly as it was - which is why film is more practical in rented premises than solutions that alter the glass itself.

Why leave logo application to a professional

A logo is a single element on a large empty surface, so every mistake shows. Crooked edges, an air bubble in the middle of a letter, a second word half a centimetre out of line - on smooth glass, everyone walking through the door notices.

We work with application tape that holds every letter at the right spacing, with a spirit level, and with the wet method, which allows the film to be nudged for a moment longer before it is finally fixed down.

What logos are usually combined with

A logo is rarely the only work on a site. Below are the solutions clients most often order alongside it.

In offices, logos almost always go hand in hand with frosted bands on glass partitions: a band at eye level gives privacy and stops people walking into transparent glass.

In shops, logos are combined with storefront graphics - opening hours and promotional decals. If stock fades in summer, the same surface benefits from UV protection film.

In clinics the most common package is a logo at the entrance plus frosted film on consulting room glazing. If a new logo is replacing an old one, we begin with removal of the old film from €8/m², and the new one can go on straight afterwards.

All our prices are on the prices page, and our service area has a page of its own. We also work in Jūrmala, Mārupe, Ķekava, Salaspils and Ogre.

Logo on glass - questions and answers

A vector file works best - AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. Vector artwork is drawn with curves rather than pixels, so it can be scaled to any size without loss of quality, and the cutting plotter reads a precise outline from it. If all you have is an image, such as a JPG or PNG taken from your website, we can redraw the logo outline in vector form. That is a separate preparation task and we include it in the quote.

For logo work we provide an individual quote, because the price depends on the size of the logo, how intricate the detail is, the number of colours, the finish and the number of glass panels. A simple single-colour logo on one set of entrance doors costs considerably less than a multi-colour logo repeated across ten partitions. The price includes materials and labour, prices are excl. VAT and the minimum order is €75.

On entrance doors a logo usually sits at eye level, roughly 145–160 cm above the floor, since that is where it is noticed both by an adult approaching the door and by someone already standing at it. On reception and partition glazing the height is chosen according to whether the viewer is standing or seated. We mark the exact position on the glass before installation and agree it with you.

Yes. Cut vinyl and frosted-effect film can both be taken off glass without leaving damage. Removal is done gradually, and any adhesive residue is cleaned off separately with the appropriate products. It is precisely this reversibility that makes film convenient for rented premises - at the end of the lease we return the glass to its original state. Removal starts from €8/m².

Cut vinyl is coloured film from which the shape of the logo is cut - it is solid and coloured, and shows up well against a light background. A frosted-effect logo is cut from film that imitates sandblasted glass, so it looks like etched glass: pale, understated and equally visible from both sides regardless of what is behind it. Offices and clinics tend to choose the frosted version; shops and storefronts more often go for colour.

Wherever possible we apply it from inside the building - there the film is protected from rain, frost, ultraviolet radiation and physical damage, so it lasts longer. We apply from outside when the situation calls for it: for example, if the glass is tinted or reflective and a logo applied on the inside would not read well from the street. Outside, we use material designed for exterior conditions.
